Agoooo………. so, my question is, what is the most amazing transformation you have gone through since your return from this trip?

Okay let me begin; My biggest change is adjusting to the urgency of things here, I was not used to people having more patience with everything. I am also not returning to the same diet. I loved the food. The “sobolo”  drink is my favourite ( hibiscus / roselle flowers, ginger, water and pineapple) .

My story is different, from childhood, it was like a call to come and see the continent, honestly, I didn’t know where, when and how. I had a lot going through my mind. I was always hearing the call to come to Africa. I was liberated from the mental discomfort immediately I saw welcome ( AKWAABA) to Ghana at the airport.

I will always say this with confidence that, I will never be the same “normal” as I was before to Ghana. Our journey to Ghana has been mind-blowing because, my perception has changed anti-clock wisely. Ghana is a community; It is normal to do a lot of greeting in a day.

People have a lot to say when it comes to Africa; they have less water, it was more commercialized thing, Africa is very poor, most people are hungry, no good places to stay, they can not read and write. These are absolutely untrue. I have been planning to make this journey all my life I am happy I made it. It has changed my life.

The people are so friendly, the culture is so fascinating, the nature is so diverse. The country is just beautiful.

These are the usual conversations we have all the time during our tour programs. People’s perception about Africa and specifically Ghana always change during their first two nights in the country. I always tell people during our meetings online before coming to Ghana, to be open minded during our programs, listen, ask questions and learn new cultures. We should be grateful for the little things that happens in our lives because that will always lead us to find the inner peace.

A brother on a tour with us once told me, I cannot breathe, whiles we have a lot oxygen surrounding us from our beautiful forest, another one said I cannot see whiles the sunshine and moon glow in the other side of the “Gold Coast”. Come with love, come with open mentally, be patience; with these, you will enjoy Ghana.

One needs to forgo comfort anytime you move away from your bed, room, house and sometimes your city. People are brought up differently from different homes and cultures. So, all you need to do is to adapt to the new situation and I promise you will always make the best out of it.

I weighed 230lbs before my two weeks trip to Ghana and when I weighed myself now I am 220lbs. I love the overall adventure that has made a big difference in how I see things now.

With the perfect beaches, beautiful cites, nature reserves full of wildlife, making you connected to mother nature is the great transformational key.  In Ghana, we will say ” AKWAABA “, you are always welcome to Ghana our motherland.

Ameeeeeee……………..
