  •  Explore Manhyia Palace Museum which provides insight into the culture of the Ashanti Kingdom before the colonization by Great Britain. It provides key historical items pertaining to Ashanti land and Ghana’s ancestry

 

  •  Kejetia Market has everything from food, fabrics & footwear, gold jewelry, pottery, household items, handcrafts, oils, soaps and spices.

 

  • Okomfo Anokye Mysterious Sword is over three (3) centuries old sword wedged in the rockface. A tour of this site offers one knowledge and insight about the beginning of the Ashanti Kingdom.
  • Visit Adawomase Kente Village (kente weavers). Kente cloth is a legendary fabric which has existed since the 11th Kente is worn not only for its eye- catching designs but also for its symbolic significance. There are over 300 patterns, each with its own name and meaning derived from proverbs, historical events, important chiefs and valuable plants.
  • Visit Ntonso Adinkra Village introduces the traditional meaning of the Adinkra symbols. Visitors take part in a workshop to design their own print clothes.

 

  • Visit to Lake Bosomtwe (the antelope god) – is the only natural lake in Ghana. This location offers a natural rain forest.  One is able to observe the entire Kumasi up on the mountains 

 

  • Kumasi Military Museum has several relics from the Ashanti period up to the modern day. More details of the Gold Coast soldiers serving in both world wars.
  •  Visit National Cultural Center at the center, artisans use traditional methods to craft kente cloth, brass items and potter, and the neighboring gift shop sells the items.
