This tour makes it easy to see a wide variety of amazing sites, natural landscapes and to study the rich culture of the Ewe tribe. The Wli waterfalls, which is the highest water fall in West Africa, known locally as Agoomatsa waterfalls – meaning, “Allow Me to Flow.” Mountain Afadja is also in this region which is the highest peak in Ghana and a very good destination for hiking and the peak of the mountain is also good place for meditations. Tour highlights
- Wli waterfall is the highest waterfall in West Africa. We will hike for about 45 minutes through the rainforest and also cross 9 streams before the waterfalls. The rainforest inhabits a large colony of fruit bats, butterflies, birds, monkeys and baboons. Dip yourself in the cooling waters of Wli to cool down.
- Ote Waterfalls and Canopy Walkway.
- Mountain Afadja is the highest mountain in Ghana. The top reaches 885 meters and forms part of the Agumatsa range which runs along the Ghana-Togo border. Take the steep climb up Mountain Afadja with a guide and be rewarded with spectacular views in clear weather.
- Visit and study the Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary and Cultural Village. Monkeys are normally seen in their separately groups. The village people see the monkeys as their sacred gods. There is also an opportunity to learn some basic Ewe language and their meaning.
- Borborbor dance is a traditional dance performed by the Ewe tribe both in the Ghanaian and Togolese communities. This is both a cultural and a social recreational dance performed during festivals, weddings and other community gatherings.
- Volta Lake is one of the largest man-made lakes in the world. It is Ghana’s main hydro-power plant. Take a tour of the upper part of the dam and take in the breathtaking view of the area in a Boat Cruise. The Boat Cruise offers contemporary and Ghanaian highlife music sessions.
